Description

Petition of Aaron Ogden against Thomas Gibbons. Gibbons has violated rights given to J.R. Livingston, R.R. Livingston and Robert Fulton by navigating his steamboats between New York and Elizabeth Town, New Jersey. Gibbons is represented by John V. Henry. Enclosure: J. Kent order to appear in Chancery on November 11, 1820 to Thomas Gibbons. Handwritten copy signed by James Kent of the original manuscript signed by Joseph Ogdon Hoffman, Aaron Ogden and Moss Kent.
