Three-page letter from Miller and Parker Gore in Boston to Daniel Webster. "Mr. Putney, if not an honest man, is an artful rogue. When in Boston last October he made a number of plausible excuses for not paying more money..." In January he paid only $100 and they have not heard from him since. Gives news of Mr. Dix's financial affairs.
