Sherman Adams papers
Description
The papers of Sherman Adams contain official documents, speeches and speech notes, transcripts of radio and television broadcasts, copies of White House press releases, personal correspondence, private memoranda, records of telephone conversations, and handwritten notes by Mr. Adams on meetings and conversations with President Eisenhower, members of the Cabinet, and legislative leaders. Sixty-nine scrapbooks of newspaper clippings (1942-1958), appointment schedules (1953-1958), published works, several drafts of "First-Hand Report" (published in 1961), photographs from the Eisenhower years, and numerous personal awards, citations, and mementos can also be found in the collection.
