Description
The papers of Henry Beates Williams contain correspondence, articles, papers and other writings, theater programs, clippings, lectures, scripts, photographs, pamphlets, maps, charts, posters, newsletters, bulletins and costume and stage design sketches. The material chronicles his life and career, including his service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, his teaching of drama and theater at Dartmouth College and other institutions, and his involvement with the Plant Development Committee of Dartmouth College.

Henry B. Williams (1907-1987), theater scholar and teacher. The collection consists of papers relating to his career teaching drama and theater at several institutions, particularly Dartmouth College, as well as material related to his service in the US Corps of Engineers and his interest in theater in other countries, especially Japan. A collection of costume and set design is also included.
