Letters and ephemera extracted from a scrapbook documenting the life of William E. Scollard (D' 47 Th '48). The materials document his time as a Dartmouth College student, particularly his membership in the Sigma Nu fraternity. Of note is a letter to his parents detailing his fraternity initiation.

Wilson Follett (1887-1963), writer and editor. The collection consists of correspondence with Alice Cox, Kathleen Morrison, Robert Frost, Allan Angoff and Fillmore Hyde related to the publication of a forward to Sidney Cox's book on Robert Frost entitled "A Swinger of Birches." The collection documents Follett's repeated requests to Robert Frost for an introduction to the book. Typescript copies of the introductions are also included.

Wilson L. Gill (1851-1941), lawyer. Dartmouth College 1871-1872. The collection contains papers relating to his work in forming "school republics" in public schools.

Unidentified account/day book from Windsor Co., VT. Possibly town of Hartford. The accounts detail the income and daily work of a man who provided veal to local people and establishments (Including Dartmouth College), worked on the telephone lines in Hartford, VT, served legal papers on criminals, and was a carpenter.

"Windward," (1860-1907), whaler and Arctic exploration ship. Consist of logbooks chronicles two journeys from London to Franz Josef land in support of the Jackson-Harmsworth Expedition.

Winfield Scott Schley (1839-1911), Rear Admiral in the US Navy. Consist of the typescript for his autobiography "My personal recollections," and some newspaper clippings.

The collection consists of correspondence, day books and scrapbooks relating to his career as author and politician, as well as speeches and articles on New Hampshire and U.S. politics. Manuscripts of many of his books and stories as well as research and notes related to them are also included.

Winston S. Churchill (1874-1965), prime minister of England. The collection consists of six letters from Churchill to a variety of people, and galleys of volumes 2 and 3 of his "A history of the English-speaking peoples," and volume 6 of his "Triumph and Tragedy (The Second World War)."

Two-page letter from Winthrop Flint Stevens in Stoneham to Asa Dodge Smith, asking for a testimonial so that he may enter Yale.

The collection contain a scrapbook chronicling Richard E. Byrd's First Antarctic Expedition (1928-1930) and the making and publication of the documentary film "With Byrd At the South Pole."
