Scope and Contents

Three-page letter from Joshua Holt and Elisha Glidden at Dartmouth University to Weare Tappan in Hillsboro, Maryland, asking Tappan if there would be any prospects in Maryland for "pedagouge." Writer reflects with pleasure the day he became a "frater." Misfortune befell a fellow member, Luther Clark, a victim of the wrath of the Government in D.C. Glidden also wants a position. Dartmouth has respectable standing; affected materially by "this anti christian warfare."
