Biography

Austin Hazen Wright (1811-1865), Dartmouth College Class of 1830, teacher, minister, took an active part in acquiring the "Ninevah slabs, sculptured slabs from the palace of Ashurnazirpal for Dartmouth College; John Henry Wright (1852-1908), Dartmouth College Class of 1873, associate professor of Greek at Dartmouth College; Lucy Myers Wright Mitchell (1845-1888), missionary, first women ever to be elected a member of the Imperial Archaeological Institute of Germany; Mary Tappan Wright (1851-1916), homemaker

Abstract

Wright Family. The collection contains correspondence, diaries, sermons, manuscripts and essays of the family. The papers also include documentation on Assyrian reliefs taken from Nimrud that are now part of the collection of the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College
