Biography

Llewellyn Link Callaway Jr., going by the name of Pete or Petey, was born on September 12, 1907 in Virginia City, Montana. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1930 and from Harvard Business School in 1932 after which he had a long career in advertising sales and magazine management, including time at Conde Nast and Time, Inc. In 1964 he became publisher of "Newsweek." Callaway Jr. retired in 1972 and died in 1992.
