Biography
Llewellyn Link Callaway Sr. was born in Illinois in 1868. He was a lawyer in private practice in Virginia City, Montana. In addition, he was a Madison County Attorney, a three-term major of Virginia City, a Supreme Court Commissioner, a Montana District Judge, Chair of the Montana Conservation Commission, alternate delegate from Montana to the Republican National Convention in 1920, and Chief Justice of the Montana Supreme Court. Callaway Sr. died in 1951.

The collection contains letters written by Llewellyn Link Calloway Jr. while he was a student at Dartmouth College (1926-1930), and Harvard Business School (1930-1932) as well as his summer work at Yellowstone National Park, the Post Office at Jersey City and the Smalley Eating Club at Dartmouth.
