Biography
James Edward (Jim) Callaway was born in 1899 in Virginia City, Montana. He was Callaway Jr.'s brother. He served in the Navy during WWI, after which he workd in a variety of jobs until he became a rancher. He died in 1945 during a blizzard.

Four-page petition by James E. Callaway of the Company captains of the 21st Illinois Infantry requesting the resignation of Colonel S.S. Goode and stating the reasons for their request. Signed by 9 captains. The petition is laid in a letter of Llewellyn Link Callaway, detailing circumstances of the petition.

Content Description
The collection contains letters written by Llewellyn Link Calloway Jr. while he was a student at Dartmouth College (1926-1930), and Harvard Business School (1930-1932) as well as his summer work at Yellowstone National Park, the Post Office at Jersey City and the Smalley Eating Club at Dartmouth. Letters after 1932, reflect his post education work. Letters are addressed to his father Llewllyn Link Callaway Sr., his mother Ellen Nimma (Badger) Callaway and his siblings Fanni, Mimi and Jim.
