Biography

Jonathan Prescott Feltner was born in 1945. He graduated from Dartmouth College with an A.B. in History in 1967. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he was on active duty in Vietnam until 1976. After his service, he began the study of law and graduated from Boston University Law School in 1979. From 1979-1986, Feltner was an associate with Goodwin, Proctor and Hoar, after which he became first assistant counsel of the Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority. He remained on reserve duty with the Marine Corps and was activated for Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Feltner received the Bronze Star for heroism in combat during the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, the Navy Commendation Medal for performance of duty as Operation Officer related to the recapture of the S.S. Mayaguez, and two Purple Hearts for injuries in combat during Vietnam.
