Landa, Stephen R.
Biography
Stephen R. Landa graduated with the Dartmouth class of 1967. As a student, he was a rugby player, President of Psi Upsilon, a member of Dragon, and student commander of the Army ROTC unit. In 1968, he was assigned to Military Assistance Command, Vietnam where he served as advisor to the Vietnamese 34th Artillery Battalion in I Corps. Landa is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star, and the Vietnamese Honor Medal (First Class). After his military service, Landa worked for Procter and Gamble for 38 years, and he has since retired.

The collection contains 125 slides (35mm) taken during Stephen Landa's service in Vietnam. Landa served from 1968 and 1969 in I Corps, based north of the city of Hue. He was assigned as an advisor to a Vietnamese artillery battalion. The corps operated from the DMZ to north of Da Nang, with extensive operations in the Ashau Valley and operated jointly with the 101st Airborne to include what has become known as Hamburger Hill.
