Biography

Hugh Sinclair Morrison, Dartmouth Class of 1926. MA Princeton, 1928. Dartmouth College Professor of Art, 1932-1969; author of "Louis Sullivan: Prophet of Modern Architecture," (1935) and "Early American Architecture" (1952). Director, Society of Architectural Historians (1953-1956).

Hugh S. Morrison (1905 - 1978). Professor of Art at Dartmouth College. Contains typescript drafts for Morrison's books "Louis Sullivan: Prophet of Modern Architecture" and "Early American Architecture from the first Colonial Settlements to the National Period". Also contains personal and correspondence; images related to the publication of Morrison's books; information on the Early Sites Foundation and Professor Morrison's teaching career.
