Letter from Daniel Hoit in Sandwich to Albert Gallatin Hoit at Dartmouth College, enclosing a letter to Pres. Tyler in regard to Albert's debts contracted with the hucksters operating in the vicinity of Hanover. This evil should be arrested or the college had better be located in the White Mountains. Tells Albert to redeem his character by diligence and preserverance in his studies.

Writer has "ethical discussion" with Gilman Brown. Albert writes that he is doing well. Whatever profession he pursues, writer is confident that he will succeed. His genius is for painting.
