Albert Gallatin Hoit letter
Description
Four-page letter from Albert Gallatin Hoit in Cincinnati to Daniel Hoit in Sandwich, New Hampshire with an account of a journey from Boston to Cincinnati. Visits Washington D.C. en route, not impressed with H. of R. as a body, called upon D. Webster who gave writer letter to General Harrison who, he hoped, might permit writer to paint his portrait. On reaching Cincinnati, met Salmon P. Chase, who, with writer called on General Harrison at North Bend.
