Biography

Hester O’Neill was born February 18, 1908. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1929. Beginning in 1947, O’Neill applied her love of Dartmouth to the research and writing of a historical novel about the college. She is also responsible for a series of children’s “Picture Story of...” books focusing on various geographical areas, including several on Scandinavian countries. O’Neill enjoyed travel-based research as well as biographical research.
