Biography
Charles Dexter Cleveland was born on December 3, 1802 in Salem, Massachusetts. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1827, from Harvard with an AM in 1827, from Ingham University with a LLD in 1861. He also attended the University of New York in 1866. Cleveland was Professor of Lantin Languages and Literature at U NY in 1833 and US Consul in Cardiff, Wales from 1861-1864. He died on August 18, 1869.
