Description
World War II materials consist of articles, books, clippings; military and personal correspondence, including many letters between Shepard and Charlotte Stone; military orders, maps, pamphlets, income tax returns, newspapers, materials recording the immigration of Charlotte Stone's parents from Germany to the United States; exercises and other items from Stone's attendance at military intelligence school; journal entries and Army reports, posters,... manuals, photos, memoranda, forms, identification booklets and other realted materials. Persons of note mentioned in the materials include Emmy Rado, William O. Douglas, Eleanor Roosevelt, Arthur Hays Sulzberger, Hadley Cantril, and Hanson W. Baldwin. Emmy Rado, a co-worker of Charlotte Stone in the New York OSS offices, figures prominently in Charlotte's letters to Shepard Stone.
