 Item, Box: 1
Part of Iconography 1753: Stephen Landa Vietnam slides

Description

Location: Ashau Valley

Scope and Contents

At a firebase in the Ashau. Pictured is an NVA Sapper. At that time, we were frequently attacked every night, and the NVA sappers would spend much of the night sneaking into our position through the barbed wire. They were not armed, but rather carrying explosives which they would throw into our bunkers or detonate in our midst. This one was stopped before he could detonate his explosives.
