Description
Contains correspondence, writings, and published work by various MacKaye family members, primarily Percy, Marion Morse, Steele, Benton, and Robert Keith MacKaye, with additional contributions by Hazel, Arvia, Christy, and Mary Medbery MacKaye and Henry Barnes. Also included are notebooks belonging to Sarah MacKaye Warner, Robert Keith MacKaye, and Arvia MacKaye, and drawings by Robert Keith and Arvia MacKaye. Among the photographs are Percy MacKaye’s... photographs of Bohemian Grove, with other photographs mainly relating to Steele MacKaye. Bound typescripts of Percy MacKaye’s poetry include his copies of “My Lady Dear, Arise!” and “First Morning to Journey’s End” along with other, unpublished poetry. Also of note are an 1832 letter to James Morrison MacKaye from George Scoular and letters to Henry Barnes from Seumas MacManus.
