Phonodisc 2714. Dartmouth College Band, "The '18 March, by Philip E. Everett '18. Arranged by R. Howland '18 and Leonard Joy '16", 1954-09-15

 Folder: 14, Box: 27
Part of DS-4: Rauner phonodisc collection

Description

The March was composed by Philip E. Everett '18 and dedicated by him to the Class as of its thirty-fifth reunion. He was unable to leave his home in New York to join his classmates at their fall get-together in Hanover on 25 September 1954, when between the halves of the Holy Cross football game the Dartmouth Band played the March in public for the first time. This recording, with an introductory message to Everett, was made and sent to him so that he and his family, as well as R. Howland '18 and Leonard Joy '16 who had collaborated in making the band arrangement of the composition, might hear it.
