Description

The Nellie L. Pierce collection of Enfield, NH, records consist of town government records, correspondence, pamphlets, clippings, articles, cemetery and land transfers, photographs, school registers, highway records, deeds, calling cards, business advertisements, maps, tax records and records of births, deaths and marriages. Of note are the extensive genealogical records of Enfield residents and material related to the Shaker settlement in Enfield as well as material documenting the military history of the town, including Revolutionary and Civil War records. Personal materials related to Pierce's research and life in Enfield as well as materials on New Hampshire and Vermont history are also included.

The Nellie L. Pierce collection on Enfield, NH (1761-1975). The collection includes town reports town meeting notices, warnings, warrants, tax lists, land records, deeds, school registers, birth, death, and marriage records, census returns, correspondence, pamphlets, photographs, genealogical material as well as material relating to schools, businesses, covered bridges, social and religious organizations, and military records of Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers from Enfield. Also includes information on the Shaker colony and some personal papers.
