The log was kept by engineer John Mackindo and includes comments on the functioning of the engines and some calculations, as well as a day-to-day account of the journey. The second logbook (typescript copy) chronicles another voyage from Petershead, Scotland to Baffin Island from June 10 to September 10, 1920 and was kept by engineer Dines.
