Orville Herning collection
Description
The papers of Orville George Herning consist of material concerning Orville George Herning, manager of the Klondike and Boston Gold Mining and Manufacturing Company; material was amassed by Louise Potter. Includes Potter's typescripts of Herning's diaries, which cover the years 1899-1947, introduction to the diaries, index of the names that appear in the diaries, and an essay entitled "The first thirty years in the life of O. G. Herning." Collection also includes a copy of the 1897 promotional leaflet for the Klondike and Boston Gold Mining and Manufacturing Company, copies of Herning's 1898 reports on miners' meetings and reports to company stockholders, and a copy of his letter of 1899 to members of the Klondike and Boston Gold Mining Company Expedition #4, as well as copies of maps, outfitting lists, and contracts
