Frank Whitcomb correspondence
Description
The collection contains letters from Frank Whitcomb while he was a student at Dartmouth College (Class of 1911) to his sister, Helen Whitcomb, while she was a student at Smith College, describing his college life. Two letters to his father, Arthur K. Whitcomb, are also included. Topics of Whitcomb’s letters include speakers at the College Club smokers, freshman hazing, Dartmouth football and other sports, and attending classes at Thayer. Of note is a letter describing the plans for the first Winter Carnival in 1911.
