Description
The oral history interview of Ernest Martin Hopkins is comprised of reel-to-reel tapes, digital recordings and CDs. There is no paper transcript. The interview was conducted by Dean of Libraries and Librarian of the College Edward Connery Lathem over a period of years from 1958 to 1964 and took place in Hanover, NH and Manset, Southwest Harbor, Maine. The entire interview runs for approximately 45 hours and covers his childhood years, his career at Dartmouth as well as his service in Washington DC during both World Wars and includes multiple interview sessions reviewing scrapbooks compiled during his years as president of Dartmouth. Other occasional participants in the interviews include Professors Bradlee Watson, Francis Childs and Russell "Cotty" Larmon, Dean Albert Dickerson and Messrs. John R. McLane, Richard W. Morin and Robert Jackson.
