Two-page letter from John Sullivan Wells in Lancaster, New Hampshire to John Adams Burleigh in Somersworth, New Hampshire, telling him that there has been a meeting in Lancaster in relation to extending the railroad from Somersworth, through Lancaster to Sherbrook and Montreal. Writer asks addressee to promote such a project. A meeting was also held at Wells River to extend the Concord Railroad.
