"The works of Edgar Allan Poe" Crowell edition papers
Description
The collection contains bound volumes with annotations and typescript notes of "The Works of Edgar Allen Poe." The material was intended to form the basis for a new edition of Poe's works, to be issued by Crowell, based on the Crowell edition of 1902 and the Century edition of 1909. However, the complete edition was never issued; the poems were issued in a single volume by Crowell in 1922. Includes correspondence, 1909-1927, of R.A. Stewart and J. A. Harrison, editors and of James S. Wilson, who suggested the project.
