Description

The papers of Joshua D. Breyfogle contain a journal, diaries and letters. The journal describes an overland journey from Delaware, Ohio, to the California gold fields from 1849 to 1850 while the letters and diaries describe Breyfogle's experiences in the 4th Ohio Vol. Infantry and the 10th Ohio Cavalry, during the Civil War. A few letters of his sons, Roland and William D. Breyfogle are also included.
