Description

Four-page letter from Marshall Perkins in Augusta, Georgia to Daniel Perkins in Croyden, New Hampshire, in which he describes escorting Jefferson Davis through Augusta on his way to prison in Washington and his duties as well as economic conditions in Georgia, following the collapse of the Confederate government. (photocopy). Includes a letter from Ver Lynn Sprague to Mather Cleveland in the Perkins family papers accompanies this letter.
