George Augustus Marden letters
Description
The collection contains letters of George A. Marden narrating his experiences in the 1st and 2d U.S. Sharpshooters, attached to the Army of the Potomac, during the War of the Rebellion. In the letters he talks about his impressions of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Lincoln, camp life and his work as Quartermaster General and Adjutant General. Two maps and some printed matter is also included.
