The collection contains notebooks, journals, ledgers, manuscripts, photographs and maps documenting the history of the town of Plainfield, New Hampshire. Compiled by resident and town historian Vernon Hood, the material contains, genealogy of families, town records, listings and vignettes in manuscript and typescript form beginning with the granting of the town charter in 1761.
