Description

The collection contains research materials including genealogical information, and mostly photocopies and transcriptions of original correspondence and diaries related to the Appleton Family of Boston. The material was used by Louise Hall Tharp for her book "The Appletons of Beacon Hill." Family members represented here include Nathan Appleton (1779-1861) and Frances Elizabeth Appleton Longfellow (1817-1861) wife of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
