Description

The William W. Dewey notebooks contain observations and recollections of life in Hanover, NH during the late 18th and 19th century, including observations on the weather, people in town and buildings. Sketches of early Dartmouth College buildings are also included. Of note are Dewey's notes on the deaths in town which include details on the causes of death and anecdotes about the dead, as well as "Reminiscences made by W. Dewey in 1847-at the request of President Lord, Presented to F. Chase 1883."
