Description

Drake writes to Joshua Ferris concerning Oneida Indian territory he and his business partners wish to purchase. The plot, consisting of one half a million acres was located along the Oneida Creek flowing north into Oneida lake from the Seneca Turnpike. Drake also expresses his hope that Albany will change a law that allows the Company to purchase or lease the property from the Oneidas.
