Description
The Kelly family collection is comprised of correspondence, William P. Kelly's memoirs, and a small amount of ephemera including drawings and genealogical information. A large portion of the correspondence is between Kelly and Ellen E. Kelly (his mother) and Kelly and Lillian M. Lee (his wife), particularly over the span of 1884-1896, continuing intermittently until 1919. The majority of the letters are weekly or, at times, daily correspondence detailing everyday news concerning Kelly's work, family, and friends. Of particular note are his correspondence from his time at Dartmouth, his memoirs from 1940 (which include a great number of photographs, some from Dartmouth), and his father's and uncle's correspondence from the Civil War.
