The Jean and Kenneth Robinson family papers pertain to the life and work of Kenneth Allan Robinson, Professor of English at Dartmouth College, his wife Jean Lambuth Robinson, her father David Lambuth, Professor of English at Dartmouth College and assorted relatives. They include correspondence (including love letters between Kenneth and Jean Robinson); creative writing pieces such as poems, essays, short stories, journals and journal clippings; newspaper and newspaper clippings; 19th and 20th century black and white photographs; lecture notes from a variety of classes and subjects; student papers graded and ungraded; audio tapes; financial documents; index cards with scholarly information; examination papers; class schedules and curriculum for English classes at Dartmouth College; notebooks; travel receipts, schedules and related ephemeral items; legal documents, pamphlets; calendars; reviews; lecture notes as well as writings by Prof. David Lambuth.
Of note is a handwritten letter from Andrew Jackson to the citizens of Concord dated 1833; a letter dated 1928 containing a legal docket from 1592 and a photo of John Wilkes Booth’s boot (presumably taken off his leg by Dr. Mudd when he operated on Booth’s leg after he had fled Washington following his assassination of Lincoln.)
