Dartmouth College Films records May be restricted
Films produced, distributed, or managed by Dartmouth College Films. Includes films of Dartmouth events; films directed, scripted, produced, or featuring Dartmouth students and alumni; and some commercial films or media broadcasts with Dartmouth locations or coverage of Dartmouth events. Primary format is 16mm. Some films in the collection date from after the dissolution of Dartmouth College Films as a department, when oversight passed to the Office of Instruction and Educational Research. Some films have been reformatted for preservation purposes, with digital service copies residing in Jones Media Center, Dartmouth College Library.

Dartmouth College Films was formed to oversee the circulation of films for instructional purposes in Dartmouth classrooms, and to create and distribute films about the College for admissions and alumni relations use. The collection includes films, primarily in 16 mm format, by and about Dartmouth College, and its students and alumni, as well as filmstrips and photographic prints.
