Dartmouth College, Provost records May Be Restricted
Description
The records of the Provost’s office contain correspondence, memoranda and other documents relating to the office's areas of interest and oversight, and include annual reports of the Provost Office as well as reports from programs, departments and offices under its administration. These include the Dartmouth College Library, the Hood Museum of Art, the Hopkins Center, and the Tucker Foundation. The records also document meetings of the Trustees, as well as the Boards of Overseers of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, the Dartmouth Institute, the Hopkins Center, the Hood Museum, the Thayer School, the Tuck School, the Dartmouth Medical School, and the Hitchcock Clinic.
Dartmouth’s relationship with various foundations and corporations, including IBM, Nynex, Dana Foundation, Disney, and Simon and Schuster is also documented. Materials relating to the organization of the Black Theater Summits sponsored by Dartmouth are included as well.
Some records predate the creation of the position of Provost, documenting earlier oversight of the offices and organizations placed under the Provost control in 1955.
