This collection of approximately 200 photographs of Alaska was used by Sally Carrighar in two of her books, "Moonlight at Midday" (1958,) and "Wild Voice of the North" (1959). The photographs, primarily taken in the 1950's, are of towns, people, animals and scenery.

The collection contains an album of photographs taken by a member of the crew of the yacht Ulanah while the sailing vessel traveled from Seattle to Juneau via the Inside Passage in 1941. Includes scenery as well as shipboard photographs. The yacht was commanded by Monroe Peaslee.
