Biography
Edward Connery Lathem, Dartmouth class of 1951. Former Dean of Dartmouth College Libraries and Bezaleel Woodward Fellow and Counselor to the President. Lathem received his MLS from Columbia in 1952 and a PhD from Oxford in 1961. He was Director of the Division of Special Collections in Baker Library from 1953-1958; Assistant Librarian from 1958-1960; Associate Librarian, 1960-1968; Librarian of the College, 1968-1978; and Dean of Libraries, 1973-1978. Lathem also served as Executive Director of the Montgomery Endowment at Dartmouth and was a long time fundraiser for the college.
