Contains articles, clippings, lab notes, illustrations, pamphlets and brochures related to the teaching of biology / zoology from 1920s until Unger's retirement in 1965. The largest group of material relates to Unger’s career at Dartmouth, with a focus on invertebrate zoology. Papers from his teaching at Lafayette College, at Woods Hole and lecture notes from courses at Yale are also included. Of note are correspondence with Presidents Hopkins and Dickey and papers related to Unger’s involvement in the New Hampshire Committee on Air Raid Protection during World War 2.
