Dartmouth College Treasurer records begin in 1773 and consist of cash books, ledgers, receipts, vouchers, investments, bills, fund and endowment registers, reports, and correspondence documenting the collection of tuition, management of investment properties, awarding of scholarships, financing the construction and maintenance the physical plant, paying salaries, recording gifts, budgets, and other financial activities and functions of the College.... The collection also contains some records of other College offices with financial responsibilities, like the bursar, the auditor, the assistant treasurer, and the business manager.
