Oral history of W. Benfield Pressey.
Description
The oral history interview of W. Benfield Pressey is comprised of two audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur M. Wilson on Nov. 5, 1974 in Hanover, NH. The entire interview runs for approximately one and a half hours. Pressey discusses the English Department, the Comprehensives and Department majors, Freshman English, and the faculty meetings and faculty relations with Hopkins. He also comments on the importance of Sanborn House to the English Department, and the tension between Gordon Ferry Hull and Robert Frost. He also talks about his presence in Hollywood along with a course in Motion Picture Writing.
