Rauner Realia Collection
The collection contains mostly three-dimensional objects that are primarily related to Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH history and Dartmouth College alumni. Representative objects include artifacts, tools, clothing, ephemera, trophies, clay pipes, horns, plaques, medals, pins and cups. Of note are Eleazar Wheelock’s saltbox, a black armband worn to protest George Wallace’s visit to campus, as well as material related to the 1935 burning of Dartmouth Hall, including a large bronze bell from the burned bell tower.
