Letter from David Blaisdell, treasurer of Dartmouth College, to William Cogswell in which he explains his reasoning for not purchasing the pews, offered by Mrs. Searle because the College has enough pews to accommodate all the students. In response Cogswell writes a letter to Hardy Ropes who has the deed in his possession. The second letter is on the back of the first one.

Abstract

Letter from Theron Metcalf to Daniel Webster regarding argument made by him and Webster in the case of Baker v. Fales in the Massachusetts Supreme Court in 1820. The importance of this case lies in its inclusion within a body of precedential case-law affirming of the separation of church and state. Enclosed with the letter are two pages of notes on various precedents and readings of the statute of charitable uses.

The collections contains letters from Eisberg Sr. to his son and photographs of "Operation High Jump" and "Operation Deep Freeze I." Ephemera including medical articles and pamphlets, some authored by Eisberg Sr., school papers of both Eisberg Sr. and Jr. as well as material related to Eisberg Jr.'s time at Dartmouth College are also included.

The last will and testament of Mohegan Indian Junsonequin whose Christianized name was John Buell. In the will he mentions his "squaw" Luce Johnson and daughter Lydia, as well as Jonathan Trumble, who may have been the one penning the document. The will was signed by Sam Fitch, John May, Christopher Raymond and Adonijah Fitch as witnesses.
