Abstract

Samuel Smith (1764-1842), merchant and mill owner. The collection contains business correspondence as well as bills, receipts and invoices related to his businesses in Peterborough, New Hampshire including the founding and operation of a paper mill and the Peterboro Improvement Company. Correspondence of his son Albert Smith (1801-1878), a doctor, and other family members as well as some memorabilia and ephemera are also included.

Ruby Mildred Ayres (1883-1955), novelist.
